Amanda has studied dance for six years to include; Ballet, Tap and Jazz in North Carolina. Amanda loves children and thinks that they are all special in their own way! While not dancing with our special little stars... she is a wife and mother!
Jackie has been dancing for 22 years; including Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz and Praise for ten years. She studied at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts and at Jacksonville University. She has also taught in the public schools along with teaching dance at a local studio in the evenings. When she is not dancing with LDS, she is enjoying time with her husband and three children.
Jaymee has been dancing as long as she can remember. She has a passion for children and loves to teach them through dance. Jaymee hopes to have her own dance company one day! When Jaymee is not dancing with LDS, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
Jennifer has twelve years of dance experience in Ballet, Tap and Jazz. Jennifer danced with LDS in 2008 and 2009. She missed being with our little dancers so much, that she has returned to spread her passion for dance! When Jennifer is not dancing, she is working part time as a pediatric dental hygienist and being a great wife!
Karen studied Ballet and Tap at one of our local dance studios here in Jacksonville for five years. She has missed dance and is excited to begin teaching it again. Karen is currently working at a local private Christian school and wants to pursue her love of dance with our LDS dancers!! Karen has volunteered at our recitals for the past three years and enjoys being around our dancers. When Karen is not teaching little ones, she is busy being a wonderful wife and running her three children around to their different events!
Karissa has been studying dance for the past 20 years, which includes four years of dance instruction to preschoolers prior to joining LDS. Her passion for dance includes: Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. Karissa has been dancing with Little Dancing Stars since 2005. As of September 2010, Karissa owns Dancing Little Stars, which serves preschools from Fernandina Beach to Daytona Beach. We are so proud of her!! When she is not dancing with LDS or DLS, she is teaching dance classes on the weekends at Stetson and enjoying time with family!
Laurie S. has been in the preschool system for several years as a teacher and has had the passion for dance since she was a child. She has been with LDS since the summer of 2007. She says this job is "too good to be true, both of her interests (teaching and dance) in one job". Laurie choreographs all of the productions at a local private school. When Laurie is not sharing her passion for dance with our preschoolers, she is busy being a loving wife and a mother of two; Hanna and Sadie.
Melissa began her dancing at age four in south Florida at the Riverdale Dance Academy until her family relocated to north Florida in 1980 where she continued dancing at the Bean School of Dance. She received her training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Gymnastics. Melissa was offered to be the lead choreographer for "Your Stars on Stage" for Dancing Little Stars dance company in Virginia. Melissa then went on to begin her own dance company in the greater Jacksonville area. Melissa has co-written a new curriculum for teaching tap and ballet for the preschool age. Her curriculum's method is "learning the art of dance through fun, while also teaching both dance techniques and its terminology". When Melissa is not working with Little Dancing Stars... she is being a wife and a mother to twins, Ashley and Kaitlyn.
All of the above personnel, have been fingerprinted by local, FDLE and FBI with no records. Your school has a copy of those results. This is in accordance with the Florida Department of Children and Welfare.
Instructor Updates: After four years of managing LDS, Mrs. Yolanda is persuing her passion of the theater. She will be greatly missed, but know that HE has a greater plan for her. Ms. Tiffany is attending FSU this fall!
